ATSDR Mirror Website in Spain

ATSDR, in collaboration with the Toxic Oil Syndrome Research Centre (CISAT) of the Institute of Health Carlos III, Madrid, Spain, has established an ATSDR mirror website in Spain. The website was developed to reduce the delay caused by transoceanic electronic transfers of large documents and to increase access to information on the ATSDR website for European public health practitioners.

The mirror website is updated every night. CISAT in collaboration with RedIRIS hosts and manages the mirror website in Spain. The address for the CISAT ATSDR mirror website is http://iier1.isciii.es/atsdr/. The website also hosts a mirror site for the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which can be found at http://iier.isciii.es/mmwr/. Other features of the website include information on environmental health problems and rare diseases in Spanish.

CISAT is a part of the WHO Collaborating Centre for the Clinical Epidemiology of Environmental Diseases and has established agreements with CDC/ATSDR and the University of Pittsburgh. Support of the ATSDR mirror website is part of a larger effort undertaken by CISAT to create a comprehensive environmental health information site, http://iier.isciii.es/.

Copia sincronizada del portal de la ATSDR

La Agencia para las Sustancias Tóxicas y Registro de Enfermedades (ATSDR por sus siglas en inglés) en colaboración con el Centro de Investigación sobre el Síndrome del Aceite Tóxico (CISAT) del Instituto de Salud Carlos III de Madrid, España, ha establecido un portal con copia sincronizada de la ATSDR. El portal se ha creado con el fin de reducir los retardos producidos a causa de las transferencias electrónicas de documentos largos, facilitando de este modo, el acceso a la información sobre la salud pública y el medio ambiente, que proporciona el portal de la ATSDR, a todos los profesionales que trabajan en este área.

Este portal se actualiza cada noche. El CISAT, en colaboración con RedIRIS, aloja y gestiona el sistema en España. La dirección del portal CISAT ATSDR es: http://iier1.isciii.es/atsdr/. Este portal también contiene una copia completa y sincronizada del web del Informe Semanal de Morbilidad y Mortalidad (MMWR por sus siglas en inglés) de los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de las Enfermedades (CDC por sus siglas en inglés), pudiendo consultarse en http://iier.isciii.es/mmwr/. Este portal contiene información sobre epidemias de origen ambiental y enfermedades raras en español.

El CISAT es un Centro Colaborador de la Organización Mundial de la Salud en Epidemiología Clínica de Enfermedades Ambientales y ha establecido acuerdos con el CDC/ATSDR y la Universidad de Pittsburgh. El soporte del portal de la ATSDR es parte del gran esfuerzo realizado por el CISAT/ISCIII para crear un portal con información global sobre salud ambiental para Europa, http://iier.isciii.es/.
