ACF administers more than sixty programs (block grants, mandatory grants, entitlement grants and discretionary grants) authorized under twenty-two legislative authorities, totalling more than $45 billion. These individual programs collaborate and direct their efforts toward achieving four ACF-wide crosscutting strategic goals. ACF established crosscutting strategic objectives under these goals that facilitate movement toward more outcome-based measures.
Implementation of the Government Performance and Results Act has focused ACF's efforts to shift from an orientation on process to results. We have developed a number of planning and reporting initiatives that, taken together, comprise our approach to performance management, e.g., annual performance plan and report.
