Welcome to the Office of Planning, Research & Evaluation (OPRE) Home Page

Thank you for visiting our Web site. OPRE is responsible for

  • developing, monitoring and evaluating programs designed to make measurable improvements in the economic and social well-being of America's children and families;
  • collecting, compiling, and analyzing data, specifically information on the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program and the predecessor program - Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC);
  • disseminating data analyses and reports and research and demonstration findings; and
  • providing guidance, analysis, technical assistance, and oversight to ACF programs and across programs in the agency on strategic planning aimed at measurable results.

We update our server regularly, so check "What's New" to see what has been added since your last visit.
