Detailed Search
QualityTools™, sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ),
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides you with a more focused method of
searching for tools via the
Detailed Search page. Here, you can enter words or phrases in the appropriate query box(es).
You may also use the various pull-down lists provided to specify additional search criteria
and/or limit your search. Using different query boxes and/or pull-down lists "focuses" your
search and increases the precision of your results. Note that it is not necessary to fill
in all the options, only those that are needed for your search.
Query Boxes
- Keyword. Words or phrases entered in this query box will be applied
against the text contained in all fields in the QualityTools Summary. Your search criteria will
also be applied against a table of concepts selected from the U.S. National Library of Medicine's (NLM)
Unified Medical Language System (UMLS).
- Disease/Condition. Words or phrases entered in this query box will be applied
against a table of disease/condition concepts selected from the U.S. National Library of Medicine's (NLM)
Unified Medical Language System (UMLS).
Pull-Down Lists
Refer to the Glossary and the
Summary for a more detailed
description of the categories below.
- Audience. Specify a particular audience. Examples: Providers, Policymakers, Purchasers,
Patients and Consumers
- Organization Type. Specify a particular Organization Type. Examples: Federal
Government Agency (U.S.), State/Local Government Agency (U.S.), Academic Institution
- Developer. Specify a particular Developer. Examples: Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration
(FDA)
- IOM Care Need. Specify a particular IOM care need category. Examples: End of Life Care,
Getting Better, Living With Illness, Staying Healthy
- IOM Domain. Specify a particular IOM domain. Examples: Effectiveness,
Patient Centeredness, Safety, Timeliness
- IOM Priority Area. Specify a particular IOM Priority Area. Examples: Immunization -
children and adults, Tobacco dependence treatment in adults, Major depression - screening and
treatment
- Tool Category. Specify a particular tool category. Example: Management, Education,
Treatment
- Vulnerable Populations. Specify a particular vulnerable population. Examples:
Children, Homeless, Medically Uninsured
You may limit your search to a particular date range based on year, e.g., "2002."
You may sort your results by relevance based on your search criteria, or the publication date of the tool.
Once you execute your search, QualityTools will display your search results, along with your original
search criteria.
The Title of the tool is displayed, along with a brief description and a link to view the QualityTools
tool Summary.
