In order to offer better service to visa applicants, decrease the time applicants have to wait for their visa, and ensure prompt telephone service the U.S. Embassy Tokyo and the U.S. Consulates in Japan have established the Visa Information Line, operated by Telemarketing Japan.

The Visa Information Line that provides immigrant and non-immigrant visa information to callers 24 hours a day by voice and fax in Japanese or English, as well as operator service between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (except for Japanese and U.S. holidays). The number is (03) 5354-4033. Please note that there is a fee charged for this service, payable by the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, JCB, and AMERICAN EXPRESS. The cost for the Voice and fax messages are 840 yen each. Live operators are available for a charge of 840 yen for every six minutes.
