Our WorkSince 1970, the Volpe Center's work has always reflected national needs and priorities. We have responded to most of the major transportation challenges of the last quarter century, including national security, world energy crises and related evaluations of alternative fuels; and the need to modernize air traffic control systems and to develop sophisticated logistics and communications systems to support national initiatives overseas. The Volpe Center is goal-oriented and provides the highest possible level of responsiveness in support of our customer's requirements. The Center also is dedicated to developing and transitioning projects into long-term strategic partnerships, resulting in effective bridges between the public and private sectors. These projects are a testimony to the endless potential and improvement of the transportation enterprise. To find out more about the work performed at the Volpe Center, search our work portfolio or visit some of our Volpe Subsites to learn about our areas of expertise. In addition to our specific projects, the Center also hosts conferences, symposia, and seminars that brings together leaders in transportation-related enterprises, as well as those in science, technology, and public policy to address the most current issues in the field of transportation and logistics. The Center also promotes the sharing of information and building of partnerships through technology transfer. |
