FLORIDA DISASTER AID TOPS $1.7 BILLION
Money to help Floridians after four major hurricanes in a two-month period has surpassed over $1.7 Billion as of October 15, 2004.  Over 936,000 registrants have sought assistance from Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne and Tropical Storm Bonnie.  The counties with the greatest percentage of households receiving assistance are: Charlotte, DeSoto, Escambia, Hardee, Indian River, Martin Okeechobee, Osceola, Santa Rosa, and St. Lucie.  The Florida State Emergency Response Team and FEMA partners remain committed in the ongoing recovery efforts to aid the people of Florida.
