Child
Care Data Viewer
The Child Care Data Viewer is a software tool that
permits you to see and understand the contents of your State's ACF-801
file before it is submitted to the Administration for Children and
Families. Using the Data Viewer will allow you to avoid time-consuming
resubmissions and provide an easy way to improve the quality of
your data, as well as gain insight into the programmatic implications
of the data you submit.
What you should already know before using the Child
Care Data Viewer:
- Windows 95/98 or NT
- ACF-801 Data Elements
- Whether your State submits full population or sample data.
This software tool is categorized into three areas:
- Loading an ACF-801 data file into the Data Viewer
- Analyzing errors in the ACF-801 data file
- Generating customized programmatic reports based on your state's
data.
The Analyze Errors section detects the same errors that the Federal
Child Care Information System detects, organizes the stream of data
into legible segments, and provides error messages and data standards
to help you correct your data before submitting to ACF. The Generate
Views section allows you to customize and produce reports containing
statistics from your data.
