Head Start Partners
The Center
on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL)
Based at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, the
Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning
is a five-year collaborative project designed to strengthen
the capacity of Head Start and child care programs to improve
the social and emotional outcomes of young children. The effort
involves the University of Colorado at Denver, the University
of Connecticut, Education Development Center, Inc., the University
of South Florida, and Tennessee Voices for Children.
Early Childhood Development Partnership with Head Start
(Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute):
Offers CDA certification courses and an AA degree to 60 selected
American Indian Head Start staff and early childhood providers
from six tribal communities.
Head
Start Family Literacy Project (Family Literacy):
Provides training and technical assistance to enhance the capacity
of Head Start and Early Head Start grantees to implement comprehensive
family literacy services.
Higher Education Hispanic/Latino Service Institutions/Head Start-Higher Education Hispanic/Latino Service Partnerships
Provides professional development in culturally appropriate
early childhood to Head Start teachers, teacher assistants,
classroom staff, home visitors and other staff through a tiered
program that allows individuals to earn CDAs, Level II certificates
and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood
Education..
Head Start and
Early Head Start Partnerships with Tribally Controlled Land
Grant Colleges and Universities: work to improve
the quality and long term effectiveness of Head Start and Early
Head Start Programs funded through the American Indian Programs
Branch.
Hilton/Early
Head Start Training Program (H/EHSTP):
Helps professionals and family members involved in Early Head
Start (EHS) and Migrant Head Start (MHS) programs develop skills
and strategies for working with infants and toddlers who have
significant disabilities.
Historically Black
Colleges and Universities: This program utilizes
the capabilities of these institutions to improve the quality
and long-term effectiveness of Head Start and Early Head Start
by developing models of academic training and forming partnerships
between the HBCUs and Head Start and Early Head Start grantee
