SAMHSA’s
Domestic Violence Programs Directory
|
The
Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) at the Substance Abuse
and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently compiled
a directory of some 200 domestic violence programs and services
for use by primary health care and mental health providers, state
and local resettlement agencies, and victim advocates. The directory
titled, "Domestic Violence and New Americans: Directory of Programs
and Resources for Battered Refugee Women," contains an alphabetical
list of programs that includes complete contact information, a description
of services, and language capabilities for each. The directory also
has an annotated bibliography of select publications on domestic
violence issues in refugee and immigrant communities and an index
of programs by State. SAMHSA/CMHS is offering this resource at no
cost. To order a copy of Domestic Violence and New Americans (CMHS-SVP-0061),
contact SAMHSA's National Mental Health Information Center at 1-800-
789-2647, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., EST.
You also can place an order using the e-mail form located at http://store.mentalhealth.org/emails/.
