Committee on Organ Transplantation Meeting, November 4-5
HRSA’s Healthcare
Systems Bureau will sponsor this Washington, D.C., meeting of the
advisory committee, which counsels HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson
on all aspects of organ donation, procurement, transplantation,
and ways to maximize Federal efforts to increase living and deceased

“Clinical
Demonstration Sites on Prevention with HIV-Infected Persons Seen
in Primary Care Settings Initiative” Grantee Meeting, November 4-5
HRSA's HIV/AIDS
Bureau will host this Washington, D.C., grantee meeting focusing
on the initiative’s goal to implement and evaluate prevention interventions
with HIV-infected individuals seen in primary care settings. Grantees
will convene to discuss progress on the implementation of their
interventions, address barriers, examine lessons learned, explore
refinements, and discuss data collection and evaluation of their

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Conference, November
8-9
This Rockville,
Md., conference, co-sponsored by HRSA and the Agency for Healthcare
Research and Quality, will address practitioner monitoring roles,
responsibilities of physician practice groups and managed care organizations,
under-reporting by health plans to HRSA’s National Practitioner
Data Bank, and the negative impact this has on patient safety. Contact:

Rural Health
Quality Leadership Summit, November 8-9
HRSA's Office
of Rural Health Policy, with assistance from the Rural Health Resource
Center, is sponsoring this second annual event in Arlington, Va.,
to discuss quality improvements in service delivery and the role

Public Health
Training Center (PHTC) All-Grantee Meeting, November 10
HRSA's Bureau
of Health Professions is the sponsor of this Washington, D.C., meeting
of 14 PHTC grantees, who are charged with improving the nation’s
public health system by strengthening the technical, scientific,
managerial, and leadership competence of the current and future

Advisory Council on Migrant Health Meeting, November 17-18
HRSA’s Bureau
of Primary Health Care will host this event in Denver, held in conjunction
with the Nov. 18-20 Midwest Migrant Stream Forum. The Council meets
three times a year to develop annual recommendations for the Secretary
on issues impacting migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families.

“Models
of Peer Support for Caribbeans Living in the United States Initiative”
Grantee Meeting, November 18-19
HRSA's HIV/AIDS
Bureau will host this Miami, Fla., grantee meeting in Miami to report
on the initial implementation of peer model interventions targeting
HIV-positive Caribbeans living in the United States. Grantees will
report on baseline enrollment and data collection, and plan for

Midwest
Migrant Stream Forum, November 18-20
The National
Center for Farmworker Health will conduct this Denver, Colo., event
funded in part by HRSA’s Bureau of Primary Health Care. The forum
will focus on cultural competence of migrant health providers and
