Welfare and Whereabouts

The ACS Unit assists individuals in locating U.S. citizens who are missing in Colombia or to check on the welfare of a U.S. citizen. We cannot help U.S. citizens in locating Colombian citizens.

When contacting ACS, please have at hand the name of the person you are looking for, his/her U.S. passport number, date and place of birth, travel plans, any known contact information, and the date that he/she entered Colombia.

Please note that once an individual is located, you will be notified only if he/she has signed an authorization or given verbal permission to waive the Privacy Act, which prevents us from releasing information about persons without their consent.
