ES Human Resource Champions Award Program

The Employment Service (ES) is pleased to announce its new award program entitled ES Human Resource Champions Award Program. The program is based on the new book, Human Resources Champions, by Dr. David Ulrich who has been named by Business Week as "one of the world's top educators in management and the top educator in human resources in the United States." All ES employees at every grade level are eligible to receive an award on a quarterly basis. The program is designed to be a prestigous program that recognizes exemplary performance at all levels and within all offices of ES. It is designed to enhance employee recognition and motivation and to find better ways of doing things. The program recognizes accomplishments that support ES goals and objectives (Improve Customer Service, Grow the Business, and Contain Costs), and focuses on results achieved and outcomes consistent with the emphasis of the Government Performance and Results Act.

The first ES HR Champions Awards were presented at the April All-Hands meeting. A special ceremony attended by Dr. Ulrich and award winners was held at OPM's May 1998 Solutions Conference. The award winners are as follows:
