Helpful Tips for CDRH Documents in PDF Format
Some CDRH documents are in Portable Document Format (PDF), with a hypertext
link to the electronic version of the PDF document. A free PDF reader, called
Acrobat Reader, is available from Adobe Systems, Inc. It allows you to view,
navigate, and print PDF files.
You can check if Acrobat Reader is installed using
this simple test.
We recommend that you check to make sure you have downloaded the most current
version of Acrobat Reader. There may be some problems with documents when
read with older versions of Acrobat Reader. Please report any problems
reading documents by using the Comment button below.

VIEWING TIPS
- We have noted problems viewing pdf files while using the Internet Explorer
(IE) browser. Microsoft acknowledges that there are problems with IE 4.0 and
pdf files. We have also seen evidence of this problem with 3.0. If you are
experiencing problems, we suggest you download the pdf to a disk or hard drive,
then open Acrobat Reader to view the file locally.
- When using the I.E. browser to download the file, place the cursor over
the name of the file you wish to download and click the right mouse button.
Select "save target as;" specify where you want to save the document;
then click "save".
PRINTING TIPS
- When printing a pdf document, check the "Shrink to Fit" box in
order for the full page and margins to print properly.
- To print a pdf document while using the Acrobat Reader within your browser,
we suggest that you use the Acrobat Reader's print icon that appears directly
above the pdf document. We have found that this makes our documents print
more accurately. The Acrobat Reader's printer icon is preferable to using
the actual print icon or menu print selection on your browser.
