CFC 101

Are you overwhelmed by your new role with the CFC?  Join campaign veterans as they walk newcomers through the basics of the CFC, including its history, regulations, language, and annual timeline.  This informative session will provide the foundation for the topics that will be discussed throughout the workshop and give participants a chance to have their questions answered.

1:00 – 5:00
CFC Advanced Session

Are you ready for the next level?  This session for CFC veterans (greater than 12 months experience) moves beyond the basics to explore the finer points of the CFC.  Using a group discussion format, we identify and discuss questions and concerns of participants.  Topics covered typically include: PCFO application process; FEA/FEB/LFCC roles; CFC regulations; involvement of Federal employees in the campaign; ideas for special events; federation involvement, and; eligibility.

Welcome and OPM Operations Report

The Director of the Office of CFC Operations, Mara Patermaster, will present the preliminary results of the 2002 CFC.  This session will also cover the changes in the campaign over the past year and review future program and policy priorities.

National CFC Committee Overview

The National CFC Committee offers a variety of services to campaigns, such as the national video, CFC Today website, communications kit, and regional workshops. Committee Chair, Marshall Strauss, will bring attendees up-to-date on the group’s accomplishments in 2002 and goals for the 2003 campaign.

Eligibility Session

The CFC regulations ensure that applicants around the country are reviewed by LFCCs using the same criteria regardless of their size or location. Whether you are new to the process or simply need a refresher course, trainers will walk you through the core application requirements and most recent OPM guidance.

Donor Research

Knowing your audience can be the key to running a successful campaign.  View highlights of donor focus group research on what workplace giving means to Federal employees.

PCFO Selection

OPM will present details on the newly-released model and how it can be used to assist the LFCC in selecting a PCFO and strengthen the relationship between the two entities.

Compliance Assessment Guide

OPM staff will share details on the new Compliance Assessment Guide and campaign audit requirements.

Government Structure

This session will focus on the three major categories of Federal employees solicited by the CFC – postal, military, and civilian.  A panel of experts will describe the organizational structure, leadership, and personnel trends of each category to help you gain a deeper understanding of the groups participating in the CFC.  The session will be followed by breakouts in the afternoon.

Lunch/Awards Ceremony

OPM will present awards to the 2003 Local CFC Heroes.

These sessions will focus on the three major categories of Federal employees solicited by the CFC – postal, military, and civilian.  Facilitators will lead an interactive discussion on the organizational structure, leadership, and personnel trends that will help you tailor your campaign for each group.

OPM will be conducting a review of the CFC regulations for the first time since 1995.  Join us for an overview of possible revisions and share your suggestions for changes.

LFCC/PCFO Forums

Join your colleagues to discuss the issues and challenges you are facing in your campaign.  This is your opportunity to share ideas and network with your peers.

Brochures

The CFC brochure is one of the most important marketing documents used in the campaign.  Errors may require expensive reprinting.  Learn and discuss the regulatory requirements for CFC brochures and how the brochure may be most effectively used to increase Federal employee understanding of the CFC and participation in the campaign.
