International Postal Policy

Under 1998 legislation, the Department of State was assigned "primary responsibility for formulation, coordination and oversight of policy" regarding U.S. participation in the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The primary U.S. objective in relation to the Universal Postal Union is to expand and improve services to international postal customers.
