Medicare Prescription Drug and Modernization Act: Pursuant to the order of June 26, 2003, Senate passed H.R. 1, to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for a voluntary prescription drug benefit under the Medicare program and to strengthen and improve the Medicare program, after striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof, the text of S. 1, Senate companion measure, after agreeing to the following amendment proposed thereto:
