A research study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication in the treatment of patients with serious infections caused by resistant gram-negative bacteria, for whom antibiotics have failed or who cannot tolerate other antimicrobial therapies. Volunteers age 18 or older who have been diagnosed with a serious infection (eg, bacteremia [unless due to an excluded infection], complicated intra-abdominal infection, complicated skin and skin structure infection, or pneumonia) requiring administration of intravenous antibiotic therapy may be eligible. Research sites located throughout the United States.

A research study to asses the efficacy and safety of an investigational medication in children 6-23 months old with symptoms of asthma or reactive airways disease. The investigational medication is currently approved in the U.S. for use by patients 12 years and older. Research sites located throughout the United States.

A research study to help doctors and nurses learn the best ways to teach patients when to seek treatment for heart disease. Volunteers age 18 or older who have had a heart attack or have been diagnosed with heart disease may be eligible. Research site located in Lexington, Ky.
