What
is telehealth?
Telehealth is the use of electronic information and telecommunications
technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and
professional health-related education, public health and health administration.
Who
are we?
The Joint Working Group on Telehealth (JWGT) is a Federal interagency
group that coordinates members' telehealth activities. Several member
agencies provide telehealth grants and the JWGT ensures that there is
no overlap in Federal funding. Members bring their unique telehealth expertise
to the table, providing a forum to discuss and share information, to educate
its members and to develop specific actions that reduce barriers to the
effective use of telehealth technologies.
Dena Puskin,
Sc.D., Director of the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth, Health
Resources and Services Administration, Department of Health and Human
Services (HHS), serves as the Chair of the JWGT.
