  • Tanner Wray, AHIP, (1988-1989) has recently been appointed to be Access Services Manager at the University of Maryland's McKeldin Library. In this position, Tanner is responsible for Circulation, Interlibrary Loan and related services. Tanner has been active within the American Library Association, working on a task force that established the Sharing and Transforming Access to Resources Section (STARS).   • Linda Watson (1975-1976) assumed the role of President of the Medical Library Association at the close of the Annual Meeting in Dallas on May 21, 2002.
  • Roxanne M. Nelson (1997-1998) was recently named Assistant Director for Public Services at the Mercer Medical Library in Macon, GA. She is also 2002-2003 Vice-President and Program Chair for the Georgia Health Sciences Library Association.
  • Dr. Elsa Lopez (1988-1989) completed her Ph.D. in Library Science at Florida State University in 1994. After several years at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, Dr. Lopez was a Fullbright Scholar at the Universidad de Antioquia, School of Library Science, Medellin, Colombia. While there, she developed a proposal for a specialty in Health Sciences Librarianship. Dr. Lopez is currently Chief of Library Services at the San Juan Veterans Administration Medical Center (June 12, 2001). Elsa.Lopez@med.VA.gov
  • Dr. Linda Hogan (1988-1989) is now the Director of Medical Informatics for the Pittsburgh Mercy Health System. Linda recently earned her Ph.D. from the School of Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh. Her dissertation was "Effect of Metasite Selection on the Quality of World Wide Web Information: A Collection Development Approach to the Evaluation of Information on the Treatment of Hypercholesterolemia." She gratefully acknowledges the support of Sheldon Kotzin and Dr. Elizabeth Van Lenten for their help in this effort (June 12, 2001). lhogan@mercy.pmhs.org
  • T. Scott Plutchak (1983-1984) Director, Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, recieved the Estelle Brodman Academic Librarian of the Year Award from the Medical Library Association at the annual meeting in Orlando (May 9, 2001).  tscott@uab.edu
  • Eileen Madden D'Andrea (1993-1994) worked directly with DIALOG/DataStar, Inc. last year to design an intranet accessible Virtual Research Library for AED staff.  This tool marks the first time AED staff have had desktop access to outside academic literature in bibliographic and fulltext format.  Eileen received a Technical Achievement Award from AED in January 2001 as recognition of her work on the DIALOG powered Virtual Library which is used by 800 staff worldwide (May 9, 2001).  edandrea@aed.org
  • Tammy L. Mays (1997-1998) has joined the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Greater Midwest Region Library of the Health Sciences, University of Illinois at Chicago as the Program Coordinator.  She will be coordinating consumer health outreach programs. Tammy was previously the Outreach Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Health Sciences Libraries (February 2, 2001).  tmays@uic.edu
  • Holly Grossetta Nardini (1996-1997) left her position at Johns Hopkins in Bologna, Italy and took a wonderful four month trip around the world with her husband on their way back "home."  She is now at Yale University where she manages service quality across the Yale library system as the library's Service Quality Director (November 2, 2000).  holly.nardini@yale.edu
  • Becky J. Lyon (1972-1973), former head of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) Office, is now the new Deputy Associate Director of Library Operations, National Library of Medicine (September 18, 2000). blyon@nlm.nih.gov
  • Kristine Alpi (Markovich) (1997-1998) married Jeffery Alpi, a school librarian, on November 6, 1999. Her new position at Weill Medical College of Cornell University began on January 4, 2000, and she is in the first semester of her studies in the MPH-Community Health Education program at Hunter College School of Health Professions in NYC. kma2002@med.cornell.edu
