FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)

The Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO) is located at 6501 Beacon Drive, Kansas City, Missouri.

KCCO receives requests for information related to agricultural commodity and service procurements, information on warehouses licensed under the United States Warehouse Act and/or approved under the Uniform Grain and Rice Storage Agreement, Cotton Storage Agreement and Processed Commodities Storage Agreement as well as requests that pertain to other programs administered by KCCO.  Please refer to http://www.fsa.usda.gov/daco/kcco.htm which provides a description of the various programs administered by Commodity Operations, KCCO.

Requests come from the public, private sector, educational institutions, news media and other government agencies, both state and federal.

KCCO FOIA personnel receive requests and determine if the information is available through KCCO.  The requests are forwarded to the appropriate record holding office for analysis, research and compilation of the information.  Upon receipt of the documents, FOIA personnel determine if the information requested is releasable under FOIA guidelines and regulations and does not conflict with the Privacy Act.  The fees for requested information are regulated by FOIA guidelines.

To file an electronic request via e-mail, visit the FSA Online FOIA Request Page. Additional information can be obtained at USDA's Freedom of Information Act Home Page and FSA's Freedom of Information Act web page.
