Warehouse & Inventory Division

Steve Gill, Division Director
202-720-2121

The Warehouse and Inventory Division (WID) administers both the United States Warehouse Act and certain operations of the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC), including providing for commercial storage of producer-owned marketing assistance loan commodities and the storage, transportation, and sale or other disposition of commodities acquired by CCC under the CCC marketing assistance and price support operations.

WID formulates policies for the acquisition and disposition of bulk commodities, including all grains, oilseeds, pulses, sugar, peanuts, rice and cotton acquired under CCC’s marketing assistance operations. WID is also responsible for oversight for the Posted County Price (PCP) system, the Bioenergy Program, the End-Use Certificate program and the Extra Long Staple and Step 2 Cotton programs.

In performing its function of administering the United States Warehouse Act, WID formulates policies, standards, regulations and procedures for the licensing and bonding of public warehouses.

In support of CCC operations, WID formulates national policies, service contracts and procedures to provide for the storage and handling of USDA/CCC owned and loan commodities in a manner that best protects the assets of CCC and its customers.
