About NICHD
- Organization The Division of Epidemiology, Statistics, and Prevention Research conducts epidemiologic, behavioral and biometric studies relating to reproductive, maternal, and child health. Studies focus on reproductive processes, pregnancy, infant mortality and morbidity, child growth and development, clinical trials, vaccinology, and community-based interventions designed to promote healthful behaviors. These studies make use of a variety of research strategies including surveys, observational designs, randomized trials, and demonstration/education projects. The Division consists of the Biometry and Mathematical Statistics Branch, the Epidemiology Branch, and the Prevention Research Branch.
