Objective:
To acquire, maintain, document, and distribute a collection of tomato genetic and species stocks of mutual interest, making seed increases by methods appropriate to the nature of each stock at the rate of approximately 400 per year, as determined by supply and viability.

Approach:
Cooperator to provide special expertise and facilities (field, greenhouse, and laboratory space) to maintain, characterize and distribute accessions. Seed are stored under controlled temperature and atmospheric conditions. Cooperator to supply samples to the National Seed Storage Laboratory for backup storage. Cooperator to completely and accurately document the collection in the Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN) and SolGenes databases.
