Research Project: Monitoring Protocols for Soil Stability at Lake Mead National Recreation Area (Phase Ii)

Location: Range Management Research

Project Number: 6235-11210-005-22
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Jul 14, 2003
End Date: Sep 30, 2004

Objective:
Develop indicators of soil condition for Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Approach:
We will select indicators that have been previously correlated with changes in ecosystem functions. We will determine which of these indicators are most sensitive to typical disturbance regimes at Lake Mead across a range of soil types by comparing them in areas which experience different levels and types of use.
