Objective:
Support for a meeting entitled "Novel Diagnostic Technologies," April 12-13, 2004, held by the Institute for International Cooperation in Animal Biologics (IICAB), in Ames, Iowa. The objective of this meeting is to learn about cutting edge technologies with the potential for application to the development of rapid diagnostic tests. The purpose of the meeting is for USDA scientists to gain an understanding of some of the latest diagnostic technologies and to determine which of those technologies they may wish to apply in their efforts to develop rapid diagnostic tests for high consequence livestock pathogens.

Approach:
This meeting has been organized specifically for targeted NADC scientists; however, a limited number of ISU and APHIS scientists are being invited to participate. Attendance is by invitation only. Speakers will(8) be invited experts. There is no cost for registration.
