Objective:
Compare nutrient dynamics in manure-amended and unamended potato rotations of varying length.
Approach:
A directed graduate student research project will be conducted to evaluate nitrogen (N) cycling in manure-amended and unamended potato rotations. This research, using 15-N pool dilution methods, will compare N transformation rates using soil resources from the long-term Potato Ecosystem experiment in Presque Isle, Maine. FUNDED IFAFS GRANT (subcontract to ARS)---University of Maine will be provinding the funds to ARS.
