Research Project: Evaluation of Combined Natural & Engineered Resistance in Potato to Colorado Potato Beetle

Objective:
Determine in the laboratory whether Bt combined with natural resistance is more durable than Bt alone. Field tests of potato lines will be conducted on Long Island, NY and Michigan.

Approach:
Colorado potato beetle strains will be tested individually against all plant lines. A factorial study will be conducted to evaluate eight different potato lines against the three beetle strains.
