Objective:
Develop decision support systems for managing insect pests in grain elevators, and to enhance mathematical models of stored grain insect population dynamics and the effects of various control procedures.

Approach:
The existing decision support system for managing insect pests of farm storage will be adapted for commercial elevator storage. Existing insect population dynamics model will be adapted for elevator storage. Models that predict insect mortality caused by phosphine fumigation will be developed for elevator storage. A database will be added to the system to store insect and grain quality information.
