QuickTime 6.5.2 System Requirements

Macintosh
  • A 400 MHz PowerPC G3 or faster Macintosh computer.
  • At least 128MB of RAM
  • Mac OS X v10.2.8-10.3.x

Windows
  • A Pentium processor-based PC or compatible computer
  • At least 128MB of RAM
  • Windows 98/Me/2000/XP

Download File Sizes:
QuickTime for Mac OS X (19MB) - a full install including support for all languages.

QuickTime for Mac OS 8.6/9 (10MB full install) - support for only one language is included in each install.

QuickTime for Windows 98/Me/XP/2000 (11MB full install) - initial download is approximately 400 KB, which then provides you with the option of performing a minimum, recommended, or custom install, ranging in size from approximately 5.8 - 11 MB. Support for only one language is included in each install.

QuickTime+iTunes for Windows XP/2000 (20MB) - download includes both iTunes and the recommended installation of QuickTime 6.5.2.


Note to Mac OS 9 and Earlier Users:
QuickTime 6.0.3 is the latest version of QuickTime available for users of Mac OS 8.6 and Mac OS 9.x. See QuickTime Version Availability table for the version currently available for your operating system.

Note to QuickTime Pro Users:
QuickTime 6 will replace older versions of QuickTime. A QuickTime 6 Pro key is required to unlock Pro functionality in all versions of QuickTime 6. If you wish to use a QuickTime 4 or 5 Pro key, you need to run an older version of QuickTime. Prior versions of QuickTime are available in our Technical Support area.

Note to MPEG-2 Playback Component users:
For Mac OS X users, a new version of the MPEG-2 Playback Component is required for use with QuickTime 6.4 or later. If you purchased the MPEG-2 Playback Component from the Apple Store online or received it with Final Cut Pro 4 or DVD Studio Pro 2, you are eligible to receive the new version for free.
