The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) supports a wide range of opportunities for professional training and career development for students, educators, health professionals and research scientists. Educational Opportunities at NHGRI
- Professionals
College and university biology instructors, counselors, faculty-level investigators, Professionals in genetics, physicians and Ph.D. researchers.
- Graduate & Medical Students
Graduates with a genetics' degree, graduates with a Master's degree, medical students and graduate students interested in genetics counseling.
- Undergraduate Students
All grade levels of high school students bound for medical school or interested in genetic counseling.
- High School Students
Students at least 16 years of age and college-bound seniors.

A national consortium dedicated to providing access to genetics information and promoting health professional education.
- Genetics in Clinical Practice: A Team Approach [iml.dartmouth.edu]
Offered by Dartmouth University's Interactive Media Laboratory, this downloadable course based on the "Virtual Practicum" model is intended for health care providers where knowledge of clinical genetics can positively affect outcomes. Note: This course is offered free by download with a high-speed internet connection. NHGRI does not endorse, encourage or require purchasing this product.
