Mission: |
Advancing the NIEHS view that "Your Environment is Your Health," the Office of Communications and Public Liaison publicizes the work of the institute, especially those findings that people can use to improve their health. This mission is carried out through press releases, pamphlets, and video. OCPL manages the Institute's presence on the Internet, processes requests under the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts, assists in the internal exchange of information and helps to answer public inquiries and to involve the public in Institute activities. The office also advises the Director and other senior Institute staff members on the effective presentation of environmental health-related research. Key elements of OCPL are:
