Working Group Mission Statement
To provide recommendations and advice to the National Drinking Water Advisory
Council in development of a Drinking Water Contaminant Identification
Method, and the first Drinking Water Contaminant Candidate List. The first
Candidate List will be published in February 1998, and the Method will
be used in the development of future Drinking Water Contaminant Candidate
Lists. This method will be a risk-based approach to identify chemical
and microbial contaminants that may pose a human health risk to public
drinking water supplies.
