AAAS's education mission is to improve science education for all students at all levels and focuses on increased participation of minorities, women, and people with disabilities. Project 2061 outlines science literacy goals for high school graduates. Specific learning goals for grades 2,5,8, and 12 are detailed in AAAS's Benchmarks for Science Literacy (1993).
