- IMPORTANT Beginning with the release of January 2004 estimates, the Bureau initiated several major changes in the publication of JOLTS data. Each month the Bureau will issue a news release for JOLTS data that will contain seasonally adjusted data series and an analysis of significant over-the-month changes. Each news release will contain both the current month’s preliminary estimates and the previous month’s final estimates, resulting in JOLTS data being available one month earlier. Thus, the April 15th release contains both the February preliminary estimates and the January final estimates. Additionally, the April 15th release reflects the annual revisions for JOLTS estimates that incorporate the most recently available employment universe counts. Historical JOLTS data from December 2000 forward have been subject to revision along with the introduction of selected new seasonally adjusted JOLTS data series.
- JOLTS data are based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
- The production of SIC-based estimates was discontinued. Historical SIC-based estimates are available for December 2000 through April 2003.
