Science Ambassador Program

The Science Ambassador Workshop

The Science Ambassador Program includes an intensive, exciting, and dynamic workshop for science teachers. During this workshop science teachers will have the opportunity to:

  • Tour several Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) facilities, including the CDC Global Health Odyssey Museum.

  • Participate in three presentations given by CDC scientists on topics such as folic acid, fetal alcohol syndrome, epidemiology, surveillance, and genetics.

  • Receive educational training from Georgia Learning Connections (GLC) experts on developing effective lesson plans.

  • Receive educational materials from GLC and CDC's National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD).

  • Enhance their professional network of science teachers and practicing scientists.
