"The Public's Health and the Law in the 21st Century: Annual Conference
on Public Health Law," June 13-15, 2005, Atlanta, Georgia
This annual conference series is for all who are interested in public health law,
public health practitioners, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement officials,
judges, researchers, educators, and many others. The conference is convened by
the CDC Public Health Law Program, the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics,
the Public Health Law Association, and additional partners. The next conference
is scheduled for June 13-15, 2005 in Atlanta.

The Community Public Health Legal Preparedness Initiative
Has your jurisdiction convened its Community Public Health Legal Preparedness
Workshop? The CDC, ABA, and PHLA have developed a template for intensive,
one-day workshops where health care attorneys and public health attorneys in a
given community can jointly learn about the laws that define the roles and

Prototype Roadmap to State Legal Authorities for Quarantine
The CDC Public Health Law Program is building a
"roadmap" of state laws that related to the separation and detention of persons
for the purpose of controlling the spread of communicable diseases. The
roadmap is intended to serve as a quick and easy way to locate all statutes,
regulations, cases, and other state law related to this subject. To
