State, Tribal & Territorial StandardsBelow are links to EPA approved Water Quality Standards according to jurisdiction. State standards are listed in the table below and tribal and territorial standards are listed on separate web pages. For more information please contact your Regional Coordinator.
Text - These links take you to the actual water quality standards applicable to waters of the U.S. They contain text of documents the state, tribe, or territory have adopted to manage their WQS Program, and which have been approved by EPA or were effective prior to May 30, 2000, for Clean Water Act purposes. Some of these documents are more recent than May 2000. Any federally promulgated standards that apply to that state, tribe, or territory are included as well. The entries in the Text column are from the WQS Repository (WQSDR). Table - These links take you to tables of waterbody names and designated uses extracted from the text documents in the WQS Repository (WQSDR) for the state, tribe, or territory indicated. The entries in the Table column are from the Reports portion of the WQS Database (WQSDB). Map - These links take you to maps of waterbodies and designated uses for the state, tribe, or territory indicated. The entries in the Map column are from the Mapping portion of the WQS Database (WQSDB). Clicking on a waterbody on a selected map will also link you to its Table information. If you are not familiar with Enviromapper for Water, review its help guide.
State Water Sites - We have provided links to state, tribe, and territory sites where you may find additional information. These sites do not necessarily show information approved by EPA for use in administering the federal Clean Water Act.
