Environmental Laboratory Forensics
The Environmental Laboratory provides facilities, equipment, personnel,
and expertise needed for measurement activities, data evaluations,
and investigations conducted to support criminal environmental
enforcement efforts.
Functions include:
- Maintaining an analytical laboratory with state-of-the-art
equipment and skilled personnel
- Presenting scientific evidence in legal proceedings
- Providing scientific consultation to regulators
- Writing and presenting scientific and technical papers

- Auditing and inspecting laboratories that conduct environmental
analyses
It also operates as a laboratory with experience in specialized analytical
techniques and the application of those techniques to evidentiary
samples, including:

HECD, NPD, TCD, TEA
