Childhood lead poisoning remains a major preventable environmental health problem in the United States. The goal of CDC is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning as a major public health problem. Achieving this goal requires the partnership of federal and local governments and elements of the private sector involved in health, housing, and environmental activities.
