Summary:
A portion of sample is dechlorinated at pH > 11 to decompose cyanides amenable to chlorination (CATC). Cyanide levels in the chlorinated sample and unchlorinated sample are determined using a total cyanide procedure (e.g., EPA Method 335.2). CATC is determined by difference of cyanide concentrations in the unchlorinated and chlorinated sample.
