Highlights]
The NC Office on Disability and Health (NCODH) works to promote the health and
wellness of persons with disabilities in North Carolina through an integrated
program of policy, practice and research.
The goals
of the NCODH are to increase awareness and understanding of the health
related needs of individuals with disabilities; improve access and
inclusion; develop health promotion programs and educational materials
for consumers and professionals; conduct and report on research and
data collection; and affect disability policy related to these areas.
The NCODH
receives primary funding from the Centers
for Disease
Control and Prevention as a collaborative endeavor between the Division
of Public Health of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Frank
Porter Graham Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill.
