For employees of multi-state, state, local and tribal agencies:
Self-instructional
Courses
self-instructional courses are available in two formats: online and paper-based
courses. There are 2 instances where Air Pollution Training Institute (APTI)
registration is required for self-instructional courses:
1) you would like to receive CEU credit for a course
2) self-instructional course is paper-based.
The registration is slightly different for paper-based and online self-instructional
courses.
Online Self-instructional Courses
If you do not need to receive CEU credits for a course, you can study the course material, take a test and upon passing the test, you can print a certificate at your desktop. For this, no registration with APTI is needed.
If you would like to receive CEU credit for a course, use the table below to determine if you are eligible and to understand how CEUs are credited.
Paper-Based Self-instructional Courses
- Registering for APTI paper based self-instructional courses is a two step enrollment process. First, you need to be a registered student with the APTI. Second, you need to register for the class you would like to take.
- To become a registered student you need to complete the application for training form.
- To register for a specific APTI self-instructional course you need to complete the Class registration form. Instructions on how to fill out the form are included in the form.
- After you have completed these 2 steps, you will be sent the course material and a test. Return the completed test to APTI and if you receive a passing grade, you will be granted CEU credits and a certificate will be mailed to you.
If you have already completed the Application for Training form, and need to make a change in your personal information (name change, address/phone number change, or PIN) please use our Student Information Change Form.
The information you provide is confidential and it will only be used by the APTI to set up your student record, class registration, and internal program evaluation purposes. You are responsible for keeping your information updated.
For Classroom

(example course T401-xx). Use the same procedures listed for Self-instructional
section above.
- All other satellite broadcasts do not require registration with APTI.
