Alexandria, VA -- A senior Interior Department official responsible for fish and wildlife issues took part in the release of a wild turkey at an educational event sponsored by the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).

David P. Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks, helped celebrate the success of the nation's wild turkey restoration efforts at the Thanksgiving season event. Interior works in partnership with NWTF and other sportsmen's groups to improve habitat for fish and wildlife and promote opportunities for hunting and fishing across the nation.
