OPTION #2:   DOWNLOAD the files. Users of the document are strongly urged to obtain the printed copy or the CD-ROM version.  However, if you have the time and technology, it is available to download in Adobe PDF (portable document) format.  The files are approximately 50 MB in size altogether, but are broken up by chapters.  It may take a considerable time to download, depending on your modem speed and network traffic.  Check out the Table of Contents page and click on a chapter that you are interested in and download that chapter.  If you are trying to download the entire book, please try during off-peak hours.  Please note that in most cases, it is not cost-effective to print out the files in color.  You are better off purchasing the book if you need the hard copy.

The reader software is available free from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com.Adobe

Troubleshooting Due to the large file sizes and intensity of graphics, you may encounter errors when printing, which may reflect your network connections to your printer, print buffer size limitation, inadequate computer memory, or too many applications running simultaneously.  Users of the files are strongly urged to use these primarily on-screen and not try to print them out, page by page.  It is also not cost-effective to do so.  See "Permissions" below also.
