Research Project: Developing Transcriptional Profiles and Microarray Analysis of Grape Plant Response to Xylella Fastidiosa

Location: Crop Diseases, Pests and Genetics

Project Number: 5302-22000-005-13
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Jul 01, 2003
End Date: Jun 30, 2005

Objective:
Identify genes involved in signal transduction, signal recognition, pathogenesis and resistant responses of grape plant to Pierce's Disease (PD). Elucidate metabolic pathways associated with mechanisms of PD resistance and pathogenicity.

Approach:
Construct cDNA libraries from PD resistant and susceptible genotypes. Annotate and construct a PD-specific gene expression database. Use microarray technique to determine gene expression patterns. Documents Reimbursable with California Department of Food and Agriculture. Log 0024451.
