NCID provides epidemiologic, microbiologic, and consultative services to federal agencies, state and local health departments, medical and biomedical science institutions, schools of public health, voluntary health organizations, health care providers, and the World Health Organization and other international agencies. NCID also works closely with the National Foundation for CDC to develop new partnerships with the private sector to create and implement infectious disease prevention and control programs. As part of the CDC cooperative agreement with the Association of Minority Health Professions Schools, NCID has established summer fellowship programs with three historically African-American universities. |
