 Goals |
- Implement
and standardize the peer review process for NCID extramural research
consistent with CDC policy.
- Provide
an open environment that promotes personal interactions with all segments
of the extramural research community.
- Assure
a firewall between intramural and extramural research programs and staff
exists within NCID.
- Assist
NCID in becoming more accountable and transparent in the expending of
extramural funding.
- Establish
a credible peer review function within NCID.
- Allocate
extramural resources based on free and open competition.
- Support
research in Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases and monitor
translation into changes in public health program and policy.
