Pat Toomey was first sworn in as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in January 1999 to represent Pennsylvania's 15th Congressional District. He is currently serving in his third term. Representative Toomey serves on the Committee on the Budget and the Committee on Financial Services. In addition, he sits on the Small Business Committee where he chairs the Subcommittee on Tax, Finance and Exports.

From his first days in Congress, Representative Toomey has been a recognized leader promoting economic growth and opportunity by reducing federal taxes, promoting American exports and lessening burdensome federal regulations. In addition, Representative Toomey is a strong voice in Congress for fiscal discipline and has frequently led efforts to reduce wasteful spending. He is an advocate of, and frequent spokesman for modernizing Social Security by allowing younger workers to accumulate personally-owned savings.

Prior to joining Congress, Representative Toomey spent fifteen years in business. An investment banker for seven years, Representative Toomey lived and worked in New York, London and Hong Kong. He later built a restaurant business with his brothers in Allentown and Lancaster, PA.

Representative Toomey has been active in Lehigh Valley civic and community boards. He is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in government. Congressman Toomey lives with his wife, Kris and their two children, Bridget and Patrick in Zionsville, Lehigh County.
