REASON FOR
ALERT : The Cincinnati district recently found three (3)
entries of pasta products violative for insect

pasta products received from the U.S. and Italy.
The blended pastas are packaged in decorative
glass jars and are imported in the United States.

INSTRUCTIONS:
*** Districts may detain without physical examination,
all pasta products from the manufacturer(s) listed
on the Attachment to this import alert.

Increased surveillance of pasta products from all
               other manufacturers is warranted.

These pasta products should be analyzed using the
method found in AOAC, 16th Ed., Chapter 16,
16.6.06 (969.4), "Light Filth in Alimentary
